Welcome to the Plumbium Bookmark Exchange.

When I was young, on family holidays, I used to look out for cheap mementoes of my visit. After a number of abortive collections, I eventually settled on leather (and leather style) bookmarks. I now have an extensive collection of over twelve hundred different leather bookmarks.

I'd like to extend my collection, but I'm limited to places I (or my friends) visit, or to bookmarks auctioned on the Internet (not the cheapest of options). So I've come up with a new option. I'll trade you a leather bookmark from my collection in exchange for one from your locality. It doesn't have to be 'Real' leather, bonded leather or one of the leather substitute materials will do. As long as it is the same 'style' as the leather bookmarks illustrated on this site.

I'll trade with anyone, from anywhere in the world (including the UK). The terms of the offer are you send me a bookmark of similar style and cost to the ones illustrated (in the UK these usually cost £1 - £2) and I will post a bookmark to you in exchange. I'll try to send the design and background colour that you request, but my stocks are limited, so if this is essential, please get my agreement before posting any bookmarks.

I've added a new selection of bookmarks to the exchange. Since I live in Birmingham (UK), many of the bookmarks I have to offer are from in and around the Birmingham area. If, like me, you are a collector, what locations would you be interested in seeing bookmarks from?

Incidently, have you any idea what the correct term is for someone who collects bookmarks? The best I've come up with so far is Insigniolibrist.
